Day at Lena’s Pool with Mom, Swimming at Her New Pool, Vacation Bible School Starts!

Sounds like they had a blast at Lena’s. They were gone the entire day and when they got back Emma was wiped out! They swam in the pool and Emma was occupied with her older girl cousins. Melissa got updated on all the gossip, I am sure. It is nice that they had fun without me because it is good for me to have some time like this alone to recharge.

Last summer, Emma had her little inflatable pool that was just right for cooling off. This year, a friend gave us an even bigger pool that included a small filter and was even bigger and deeper. It is even good enough for me to get in and not feel like I am a giant! We spend many of our hot summer days out here in the pool. The only negative about it is the bees that are constantly flying around. Emma wants me to “guard” her by holding my racquetball racquet and smacking any bees that get too aggressive or close. LoL!

Another little break I got recently was when Emma attended Vacation Bible School. It was another slightly anxious time for me, similiar to when I took her for her first days of school. When we got there it was chaos! There were soooo many kids there of all ages and it seemed a bit disorganized at first. Well, we were told that the kids were all seperated into groups by age and we found Emma’s group. At first she didn’t really want to be there–probably since there were so many kids and it was loud. I am sure that she is like me too in that I do not like crowds. Anyway, once Emma saw that a nice older girl, about 10, was going to be her “chaperone” Emma smiled and went by her. It was then that she stopped telling me not to go. Whew!

Emma had lots of fun that week, they did lots of crafts and singing with a theme of  “Heros” etc……. She really liked that older girl!!! And I liked a little time off!!!
