Parties
Watching Emma Have Fun!
Last night we went to a birthday party for Emma’s cousin Anthony’s 1st birthday. It was a fun time at a place called KidsTown. The place is essentially an indoor playground that also has a bunch of themed rooms with toys all over the place and seating areas for grownups. We had the place to ourselves which is nice too. Of course the grownups all congregated in the area designated for food while the kids went off and ran around and played. It was great to be able to socialize without being interrupted all the time and it was nice to relax. Definitely a great place to have a kids party. Emma loves …Read more […..]
6 years old! Skip-Dancing Daddy!
Well, another year has passed and our little girl is now 6 years old! Wow! Where did the time go?!? I can’t believe that 6 years has went by so fast! Our little girl is growing up too fast! She is getting so smart and learning so much in kindergarten that I can hardly believe it! To celebrate her birthday, Emma was able to have 3 small parties. First, Emma had a Princess Party with her cousins and friends where the girls were dressed up like princesses and had lots of fun! Emma also had a small party at Nonnie and Poppie’s in Wisconsin. As is par for the course, Emma didn’t want …Read more […..]
Teddy Bear Party! Full-Time Kindergarten?
Emma’s preschool has a Teddy Bear/Pajama party every year and this year turned out really nice! Melissa helped out with the preparation at the school and there was lots of singing, crafts, dancing and playing! Emma brought her favorite bear–Purple and wore her favorite Princess pajamas. There was even a room where the Dads danced along with the kids as they sang one of their songs. At the end of the night everyone went into the gym where there were snacks and desserts… After eating the kids ran all over the place chasing each other and burning off all that sugar. It was a very nice day! This …Read more […..]
Happy Halloween! Headstrong Little Stinker…
Halloween 2010 Halloween is always an awesome time here at our household and this year was great! Emma was Cinderella this year and had her preschool party/costume parade which was very cute. And, of course, we had our annual Halloween party. This year, Emma understands better what the party is all about and she really enjoyed the awesome decorations and lights that we put up in the garage. She loved seeing her cousins all dressed up and she enjoyed taking pictures with our neighbor Carol who was dressed as a witch! Emma still loves(and hates) witches! In fact, Auntie Kathy left her …Read more […..]
Nona in Heaven, Go Dogs to Heaven, Riding my bike! 4th Birthday–Princesses! I Love Poppie
It has been awhile since it has been hectic around here. My grandmother “Nona” passed away recently after several months of illness. I will surely miss her alot–maybe I will write about her in depth in the future–and Emma will miss her too. Emma really liked to visit with her even in the hospital. Emma has a new favorite movie which she pronounces in a very cute way. It is “Go Dogs to Heaven.” Obviously it is All Dogs Go to Heaven….:) She loves this movie as well as its sequel. After getting a nice new tricycle for Christmas from her cousins Chrissy …Read more […..]
Christmas Party at Lena’s, Lala Here! Sleepover with Lala & KiKi, Merry Christmas!
It was much fun at Lena’s house for her Christmas party. Emma was all over the place playing with all of her older cousins! She really loves Tina and kept her busy. She is friendly with everyone and even smiles at Uncle Vince and Uncle Fred! Of course Emma was spoiled like crazy by her aunts with all kinds of Christmas presents, especially tons of clothes. And, the food was, as usual, excellent!!!! Emma was really excited when her cousin Lauren(Lala) came to stay here from Florida. Emma really kept lala busy and took the heat off me and Mommie! She really likes lala and always looks …Read more […..]
Family Night at the Zoo, The Boys’ Birthday Party, Indiana @ Mary’s, Preschool Teacher Visits,1st Backpack
A recent weekend proved to be extremely busy and fun for Emma. The following is a summary.. Friday was Family Night at the Brookfield Zoo was a good time despite the rain! Emma, and Melissa and I for that matter, were entertained by the lions who were actually playing! A benefit of going to the Zoo in the evening is that the animals are wide awake and very active. The lions looked like kittens running around and playing. They actually looked like they were having fun! Emma sure had fun this year too! She was going up to all the kids, most of time they were older girls, and dancing in front of …Read more […..]
The Baby Puked, Meera, Potty with Gianna, Kathy Kathy, Popstickle, Memorizing Max & Ruby Song
Emma likes taking baths with her dollies. For awhile she would bring them in with their clothes still on but after awhile we took the clothes off beforehand as the princess dresses are too nice to get ruined. Anyway, she has a big doll that we just call baby. Baby is a doll that has an open mouth and bottom that will drink from a bottle and go pee. Baby took a bath with Emma and I thought it would be funny–and I was right– to pick the doll up and squeeze it. When Emma saw the water coming out of its mouth and bottom she got excited and proclaimed, “The baby is going pee and it puked!” Too funny!!! For …Read more […..]
Relief is Here! Nap By Myself, B-day Party! Sneaking Bubble Gum, Why? Potty Power! Hex Girls, Holding a 3Yr Old Accountable??
It has been awhile but it has been busy around here… Emma had a new pal for the last couple weeks and I had a “vacation” during this time. Nonnie, my Mom, came and stayed with us. Boy, did Emma enjoy having her here…. Emma got to play dolls(with someone other than me all day), jump in her bouncy toy, play outside(a day or 2 since weather was bad), color, and run Nonnie ragged….. She got to take naps with her, and even took a nap all by herself a day or two–good one nonnie! She was proud and bragged about how she took a nap “all by myself!” Nonnie got Emma back on track …Read more […..]
YouTube Videos, Dirty Deeds! Cousin Kylie, Superbowl & Vincent! At the Park in February!
So, Emma has been into a new activity lately. She loves to “Go in the office” to watch YouTube videos. Yes, at almost 3 years of age she is now literate in Web 2.0! We have a ton of bookmarked videos that she watches. Besides watching the short video clips of herself that I have recorded over the years–wow, over the years already!–she really enjoys watching the homemade videos of Disney clips/characters set to popular songs. The videos have to have actual video clips and not just pictures or else she will tell me to “Change it.” Her favorite video is set to the AC/DC song “Dirty Deeds” …Read more […..]
