Wisconsin Dells, New Words & Sayings, Favorite Movie

We had a recent trip to the Wisconsin Dells. Emma got to hang out with her buddy Alesha as well as Alesha’s big sister Brittany. Emma enjoyed the waterparks but was a bit overwhelmed by all the wild kids splashing and the noise. We went to a quiet area and Emma was right at home going in and out of the water. I took these pictures while we were there. Emma has been picking up all of our sayings and is surprising us at random times by saying them. Here are some of them….. “Wait a minute” “I got it” “OK” “My favorite” And…My Favorite: “Hey Ken!” Yes, she heard …Read more […..]

2nd Bday Party! Happy! Look What I Can Do! Sick…:(

Emma turned 2 on March 27th! Her 2nd birthday was very nice even though Melissa and I were under the weather. We had a pretty good turnout for the party. Melissa’s entire family, both sides, showed up as they usually do. 1 Cousin and 2 aunts could not make it. Even her 2 grandmothers, one 88 and virtually deaf and hardly able to walk, and the other 96 and suffering from Alzheimers made it. They are true to their family and it is admirable. My parents, 2 sisters and families, and some members of my “new” family came. My “new” family is also very true to their family! They …Read more […..]

Easter Buddy, Hannon, Ki Ki, Octanon

Easter was a good day. Emma was a very good girl in church. She loves the music and listened intently as the choir sung. During the sermon she got friendly with the ladies next to us. She smiled and began showing them her “Mama” and her “Dada.” The 2 ladies became second fiddle when Emma noticed the younger looking woman next to them. She loves the younger looking women and teenage girls and gravitates to them wherever we are. She calls them “Lala” like she calls her cousin Lauren. She got down from Melissa’s lap and crept closer and closer to the woman. She received lots of smiles at church. After …Read more […..]

Puppy! Mana, Shoes, Mall, Diaper Changing

This past weekend we went to Emma’s “new” relatives for an early Easter and a birthday party. Emma received big Easter baskets filled with goodies. She also got to play with the tiny little dog that was there! She loves puppies and this little dog was no exception. It is smaller than her cats and wags its tail extremely fast! The only thing that she didn’t get was that this little dog did not like her and wanted to bite her. She got a kick out of the fact that it tried to bite her cheek and her feet. Even 4 days later when I ask her what she did at the party she laughs and says “puppy, …Read more […..]

What the heck is a Hemangioma??

One of the most unimaginable things that can happen is a potentially serious medical diagnosis from your baby’s doctor. I never knew just how true this is until it happened to us. Approximately 2 months after Emma was born we noticed that the tip of her nose was turning a blueish color and getting bigger. At first we thought it was the lighting conditions or our imagination. As the days went by it got worse. The skin was definitely stretching and her nose was getting darker and rounder. We went to the pediatrician who stated that it was probably a hemangioma. A what?!?Although this doctor …Read more […..]

High Heels, ShiffBeeAhhDee, No! No! Yoda, Go Dada! Caged Lion

In the morning, Emma sometimes likes to play in our room for awhile before we go downstairs. She loves to go in our bathroom and look in the bathtub while playing with her bath toys. In fact, sometimes when she gets up in the morning, she opens her bedroom door and goes straight into our bathroom to do this. She will play for awhile before going to the hallway where the gate is and stand there and yell, “Dada, Daddy!” or, if Melissa is home, “Momma!” She likes to put Melissa’s slippers on her feet(beet) and walk around in them. The other day she came walking up to me wearing Mama’s High heels! …Read more […..]

Hotten! Kitty! Granny Walk, Look at Me! Buddy!

We all know that women love chocolate. Heck, I love chocolate! Well, Emma is no exception. Now, we aren’t the kind of people that eat many sweets as it is but we do treat ourselves to some as well as Emma once in a while. She loves M&Ms and anything with chocolate. She has come up with her own name for chocolate, where I have no idea. She calls chocolate Hotten. Yes, she asks for hotten at all times during the day now. I give her Special K breakfast bars in assorted flavors. Her favorite flavor is the chocolate drizzle. She likes to eat the hotten off first. Her favorite treat though, …Read more […..]

The Mall, Pretty, Family & Sacrifice

Today we went to the mall. Emma loves going to the mall to see the water fountains and the decor that hangs from the ceiling. Her newest favorite word is “pretty.” Everything that she likes is pretty and the water fountain is no exception. So are the big butterflies that are hanging from the mall ceiling. Oh, and the Easter Bunny is there too and she went crazy! It started to wave at her and she waved back and started saying, “Emma! Emma!” which meant that she wanted to go by it. I did not dare have her sit on its lap for a picture without Mama being present, however, as Mama had warned …Read more […..]

Mom Out of Town,Ready, Go! Hello, Bye! Dancing Queen, Write to Blog?

Melissa is out of town and Emma finally went to sleep. A looooong day indeed! Am I the only spouse who absolutely hates when the other spouse goes out of town for work?? Emma likes to say, “Ready….go!” Nonnie taught her this and it is very cute! She also likes to pick up her play telephone and say, “Hello” and when I repeat it she then says, “Bye” and hangs up. Too funny!! Her dancing is getting faster now. She spins round and round and round at an even faster pace. I can’t keep up with her for very long as I get dizzy. Nonnie can’t either. LOL. Ths is Why I am So “Paranoid” About Daycare

This is sickening! You just never know about people…. Cary, N.C. — After her twin sons, Gavin and Bryce, were born three months premature, it was difficult for Lindsay Addison to go back to work in January. Having spent months in intensive care, the boys still were not healthy enough to go to day care with their older brother, so Addison posted an ad online for a nanny. After interviewing six candidates, she hired someone she thought she could trust – a nanny who is a mother herself, had a background in child care and had a “glowing recommendation” from someone …Read more […..]
